Tips for Parenting The Extraverted Child
Tips for Parenting The Extraverted Child
Parenting Based On Personality Type
The Extravert Child:
- May need something active after sitting all day at school. Don’t make them do homework right after school. Set homework time for later. But Do set it.
- May come home chatty, after gathering energy from interacting with their environment. Allow time for that. Set a time limit
- Don’t like being interrupted because they are forming ideas as they speak. Wait to ask clarifying questions when they pause.
- Can be uncomfortable with silence. Educate them on the importance of listening to others.
- Often times stimulate the conversation by asking more questions or adding more comments. Educate them that some people need time to think about their answers & to allow for that.
- Easily distracted. Don’t hold conversations with others within earshot of the E child when they are needing to concentrate.
- More willing to take the lead; because they are more comfortable in allowing ideas to unfold.
